Most Expensive Burgers in the World

It is no surprise that humankind has developed such insanely priced burgers, considering the love most of us have for meat. Of course, there are vegetarians, vegans and more, but many of us will continue to be hopeless carnivores. Don’t believe me? Then you should check out our list on The 10 Countries that Eat the Most Meat; now those are some hopelessly meat-loving nations!

However, it doesn’t take a meat lover to have an interest in this list, as it’s quite fascinating to see just how much people are willing to pay for a good and exotic burger, and a great conversation starter whether around the barbeque, or while nibbling on a salad in a vegan restaurant.

So, are you curious about the ten most expensive burgers in the world? Let’s take a look at the mouth-watering countdown.

8. The Burger

White truffles, luxurious ham, lambs lettuce, pink Himalayan rock salt, shallot infused mayonnaise, organic white wine and Cristal onion straws ornament this exclusive Wagyu beef burger; every ingredient enclosed in a warm bun dusted with Iranian saffron and white truffle.

7. Le Burger Extravagant

Price: $295

Location: Serendipity 3, New York City, New York, United States of America

The patty itself is Japanese Wagyu beef infused with white truffle butter. It is seasoned with Salish Alderwood, smoked Pacific sea salt and topped with cheddar cheese hand-formed by a famous British cheese-maker. Not extravagant enough yet? Well, the hamburger also comes with black truffles, a fried quail egg, Kaluga caviar and crème fraiche.  To complete the eating experience of such a dish: a diamond-encrusted toothpick made of solid gold.

6. Douche Burger

Price: $666

Location: 666 Burger, New York City, New York, United States of America (666 Burger is not a restaurant, but a food truck!)

Believe it or not, a food truck burger made it to the countdown of the costliest burgers. The Douche is made with Kobe beef and foie gras and topped with a melted mixture of Gruyere cheese and champagne steam, lobster, truffles and caviar. The sauce? BBQ made with Kopi Luwak coffee beans.

5. Kobe Beef and Maine Lobster Burger

Price: $777

Location: Le Burger Brasserie in Paris, Las Vegas, Nevada, United States of America

The main ingredients of this special burger are revealed by its name: Kobe beef and Maine lobster. On top of it you can find prosciutto, Brie cheese, caramelized onions and a very special Balsamic vinegar. Such a hamburger wouldn’t be complete if not sided with Rose Dom Perignon champagne.

4. The Glamburger

Price: $1,768

Location: Honky Tonk, Chelsea, London, United Kingdom

The Chelsea restaurant claims they’ve created the world’s most expensive burger but, as you can see, they only make it to number 4 in our countdown. This hamburger takes three weeks to develop and consists of 220g of Kobe wagyu beef, 60g of New Zealand venison, a black truffle Brie at its core and is served with a Canadian lobster poached in Iranian saffron. If this still doesn’t sound over-the-top enough for you, look at the rest of the ingredients: bacon coated with maple syrup, Himalayan salt for seasoning, beluga caviar and a hickory smoked duck egg covered in gold leaf.

3. The Absolutely Ridiculous Burger

Price: $2,000

Location: Mallie’s Sports Grill & Bar, Detroit, Michigan, United States of America

This burger’s ridiculousness has to do with its size. Regarded as the world’s largest burger and Guinness record winner of the title, the Absolutely Ridiculous Burger weighs 338lbs. None of its ingredients are exotic or exclusive; this is just one hell of a giant burger.

2. FleurBurger 5000

Price: $5,000

Location: Fleur de Lys, Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, Nevada, United States of America

This wagyu beef burger comes with foie gras and black truffles, but its elevated price has to do with the bottle that comes by its side: a 1995 Château Petrus. The exclusive wine is served in an Ichendorf Brunello glass which, fortunately, you get to keep as proof of your outrageous meal.

1. Cultured Beef Burger

Price: $330,000

Location: Maastricht University, Netherlands (cooked in London)

The only fancy ingredient in this burger is the ‘meat’ itself, which is cruelty-free meat or test-tube meat. The Cultured Beef burger is very special because it was the first of its kind. Eaten in August 2013 at a press demonstration in London, this in vitro meat burger was developed by a Dutch team of scientists whose aim was to find a sustainable alternative to meat production.
