BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:BCRX) was the top gainer in the morning and closed also in the first position. BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:BCRX) ended 26.52% higher at $1.67 in turnover worth $5.8 million. We reported earlier that BioCryst had a “green” week, after receiving some encouraging news on the “peramivir,” an intravenous drug for flu treatment.
The second gainer on Friday was Innovative Solutions & Support Inc (NASDAQ:ISSC), closing 25% higher at 6.90 in deals worth $239,300. Innovative Solutions & Support Inc (NASDAQ:ISSC) yesterday announced about its contract with Delta Air Lines worth about $60 million.
Another stock that even though moved to a lower position, but still remained in top is NII Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:NIHD). The stock appreciated by 20.70% to $5.48 on Friday in deals worth $8.5 million. NII Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:NIHD) advancement is probably due to the recent $400 million agreement signed by NII Holdings to sell its Peruvian operations.
Cordia Bancorp (NASDAQ:BVA), which currently trades under the ticker BVA is another top gainer on Friday. The stock closed 20.59% up at $6.15 in deals worth $6,100. Cordia Bancorp (NASDAQ:BVA) has currently acquired Bank of Virginia (NASDAQ:BVA), American Banker reported, there are now 2.8 million shares of Cordia stock outstanding.
Dataram Corporation (NASDAQ:DRAM) was the seventh on the list, appreciating by 10.15% to $2.28 in deals worth $14,900. Dataram Corporation (NASDAQ:DRAM) is a developer, manufacturer and marketer of large capacity memory products.
The list is followed by Gastar Exploration Limited (USA) (NYSEAMEX:GST), closing 14.15% up at $2.34 in some $2.0 million turnover. Gastar Exploration Limited (USA) (NYSEAMEX:GST) has today declared a monthly cash dividend on its 8.625% Series A Preferred Stock (equivalent to $0.179688 per share), 4-traders reported.
IRIDEX Corporation (NASDAQ:IRIX), a worldwide provider of therapeutic based laser systems, delivery devices and consumable instrumentation used to treat eye diseases in ophthalmology, has also made the list, advancing 16.15% to $4.89 in turnover worth $35,900. IRIDEX Corporation (NASDAQ:IRIX) has recently announced about a partnership with the privately held Peregrine Surgical Ltd. under which it will become the worldwide distributor of Peregrine Surgical’s products.
Exide Technologies (NASDAQ:XIDE) is the ninth top gainer on Friday. The stock closed 16.79% higher at $1.60 in deals worth $16.1 million. The company had a good start at the begining of the day, after which it lost a couple of positions. But still as it was in the morning, Exide Technologies (NASDAQ:XIDE) seems to be recovering from the 50% fall on Thursday. , closing 16.79% up at $1.60 in $ turnover. Gastar has today declared a monthly cash dividend on its 8.625% Series A Preferred Stock (equivalent to $0.179688 per share), 4-traders reported.
