Apple Inc. The budget iPhone or low cost iPhone is not budget-friendly after all. This was confirmed by the phone’s major manufacturer Pegatron’s CEO T.H. Tung. According to Mr. Tung, speaking before the Pegatron’s shareholders meeting held on Thursday, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s low cost iPhone will not be a budget offering. In fact, it is to be sold as a higher-end middle tier device, AppleInsider reported.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) won a patent lawsuit in Japan on June 21, when a Tokyo judge ruled that Samsung Electronics Co. (005930) smartphones and a tablet computer infringed on its visual effects for touch panels. Tokyo District Court Judge Shigeru Osuga hasn’t ruled on the amount of damage compensation and didn’t give a timeframe for providing one, according to a statement from the court. …A Samsung spokesman, Nam Ki-yung, said the company would review the ruling and then decide whether it will appeal. Takashi Takebayashi, a Tokyo-based spokesman for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), didn’t immediately return a call seeking comment on the ruling.

Apple’s board links CEO Tim Cook’s bonus to stock’s performance (FrenchTribune)
In a bid to reassure investors, the board of technology giant Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has linked Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook’s bonus to the performance of the company’s stock. Mr. Cook will receive nearly 80,000 Apple shares each year, 50 per cent of which will be linked to the market value of the stock. Mr. Cook will receive the full amount, if the performance of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s stock is in the top 33 per cent of Standard & Poor’s (S&P’s) 500 Index companies. But, if the stock is in the middle third, the CEO will receive 60,000 shares; and if the stock is in the bottom third, he will receive only 40,000 shares.
