Apple iPad Program: Nobody can deny the fact that the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad is one of the most popular tech devices in the world. Even if you don’t agree, when you look at the sales numbers you will soon realize that Apple has hit it big with this tablet.
While most people are familiar with the use of Apple’s iPad technology in their personal and business lives, it appears that things are going one step further.

The new Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad program is taking the use of this technology to new heights.
In the Maxine Dunitz Children’s Health Center at Cedars-Sinai, mothers have the ability to connect with their newborn shortly after deliver, even if the child is taken to a different floor for care.
Here is what the release had to say:
“Moms who are not ambulatory after delivery, perhaps because of a cesarean section or other complications, are able to see their newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit due to the new iPad initiative. The program, called BabyTime, allows moms to visit with their infants and the medical team over a secured Internet connection.”
A few years back, this may not have been something that was ever considered. However, most people in today’s day and age, including parents and hospital staff, are comfortable enough with the Apple iPad to realize the benefits.
Charles F. Simmons Jr., MD, chair of the Cedars-Sinai Department of Pediatrics, added the following when discussing the benefits of the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)-powered program:
“BabyTime will help bridge communication with the family and the baby’s medical team and is an excellent use of technology to help new mothers bond with their babies, even when they cannot be physically at their babies’ bedside. When doctors and nurses are treating a newborn in the NICU, mom can be right there asking questions and getting updates, even if she’s on a different floor.”
While there is no substitute for physically being in the same room with your baby, this is the next best thing. After all, some moms simply aren’t well enough to travel from their room to the NICU after delivery. This is particularly true in the case of a C-section.
Right now, Cedars-Sinai is leading the way with this initiative. Of course, it won’t be long before other hospitals are joining in on the action.
