iPhone in Airplane: Apple iPhone – A Danger in the Sky?

iPhone in Airplane: If you have ever traveled by airplane in the past, you are well aware that there are restrictions associated with the use of technology. For example, you must have all devices turned off at particular times. Along with this, you should not be using your Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone or any other device to make calls while in the sky.

Of course, many people don’t believe this has anything to do with the safety of the airliner. Instead, they think that most airline companies are being picky.

However, there may be evidence that the use of an Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone, for example, could cause major trouble in the air.

Bloomberg recently posted a video with the following description of what happened:

“The regional airliner was climbing past 9,000 feet when its compasses went haywire, leading pilots several miles off course until a flight attendant persuaded a passenger in row 9 to switch off an Apple iPhone.”

Is it possible that the customer’s Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone was to blame? Or was this some kind of mistake?

“Bloomberg did go through a decade of pilot reports and scientific studies and found a different story.”

This was in response to the host asking if the use of electronic devices actually has anything to do with the operation of the plane.

Adding to the above:

“Let’s take a look at the evidence here. Exhibit A: a NASA test from 2004. It showed a now discontinued Samsung phone model signal was powerful enough to actually block GPS use for navigation. And then separately, in a log of incidents from carriers around the world, there were actually 75 cases of suspected interference. This is from 2003 to 2009. One airline specifically, Delta, told the FAA that its pilots and mechanics had reported they suspected passenger electronics caused more malfunctions 27 times. That is from 2010 to 2012.”

Whether or not the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone is actually a problem or not has yet to be seen. However, when you look at the data dug up by Bloomberg it is safe to say that this is a concern for airlines all over the world. This is particularly true with more and more people carrying mobile devices, many of which are updated with advanced technology.

For now, it is best to listen to the advice of the flight crew and stay off your Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone.
