As an app developer, an award from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is just about as good as it gets. This means you are doing something right.

At WWDC 2013, Apple has announced the winners of the “Apple Design Awards.” According to the company’s official website, this award is meant to “recognize apps that raise the bar in design, technology, and innovation.”

With millions upon millions of apps, one that wins this award is definitely at the top of the industry. Let’s put it this way: it is something Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) app developers strive for.

As you will see, there are many types of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) apps on this list. There are those that are meant to make you more product, such as the one from Evernote, as well as those that are available to bring some joy to your life, such as Ridiculous Fishing.

Every year, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) likes to recognize the top apps at its WWDC and this year was no different.

As you can imagine, taking home one of these awards is no easy task. There are so many apps being developed and released that some are sure to go unnoticed. However, those above have risen above and now have the distinction of being recognized by Apple as one of the best of the best.

App development is on the rise, and a growing number of individuals and companies are getting involved. This trend is sure to grow well into the future, especially as the need for apps continues to increase.

Were there apps that should have won an award? Probably. But once again, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) can only do so much in pinpointing the cream of the crop. There are only so many awards to go around, and those detailed above were lucky enough to beat out the competition.
