Apple Music Service: Apple and Twitter…Here’s The Latest On What They’re Working On

Earlier today, The Guardian posted an article discussing Apple’s foray into the music industry.

In addition to what Apple is planning for the future, Twitter appears to be jumping into the music game as well.

Here is what the article had to say about Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and its dreams of success in the music industry:

“Apple is understood to be preparing a music streaming service that would challenge existing ones such as Spotify and Pandora in the US, after reports said that it was close to securing licensing deals with Universal Music and Warner Music, two of the three major music labels. Negotiations with the third, Sony Music, are said to be “less advanced”, while there is no indication of independent labels’ willingness to sign.”

For Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) the most important thing at this time is that the company is working on securing licensing deals with the top labels in the industry. If they are successful in getting Universal Music and Warner Music on board, getting the service up and running, with traction, will be much easier.

What about Twitter? Are they doing something that could bite into Apple’s potential? Here is what the same article added:

“Twitter meanwhile is expected to launch a dedicated product optimised for music, being readied by Twitter for launch at this weekend’s Coachella music festival, where artists including Blur will be playing.”

“Twitter Music, which is being teased with a holding page, is thought to offer users a version of Twitter optimised for music, including enhanced player tools supporting Soundcloud and iTunes, rich follower tools for favourite bands, suggestions and trends, and a recommendation service between friends.

Most agree that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has the best chance of changing the music landscape. The question now: when the service finally launches, will the company be able to attract users from the competition? Share your thoughts on this in the comment section below.
