In the quarter, the Large Cap Composite returned -2.1% net of fees and expenses, the Small Cap Composite returned -4.5% net, the Focus Composite returned -5.8% net, the Focus Plus composite returned -6.0% and the All-Cap Composite returned -4.1% net. In its first quarter 2025 investor letter, Vulcan Value Partners emphasized stocks such as Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN). Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) provides consumer products, advertising, and subscription services through online and physical stores that operate through North America, International, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) segments. The one-month return of Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) was -5.55%, and its shares lost 0.65% of their value over the last 52 weeks. On April 14, 2025, Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) stock closed at $182.12 per share with a market capitalization of $1.933 trillion.
Vulcan Value Partners stated the following regarding Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) in its Q1 2025 investor letter:
“There were five material detractors: Salesforce Inc., Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN), Microsoft Corp., Alphabet Inc., and Skyworks Solutions Inc. Amazon.com is a dominant, world class company with powerful secular tailwinds in place including its e-commerce penetration, digital advertising growth, and the cloud transition. Amazon reported strong results during the fourth quarter. The company sold off along with the majority of the cloud computing ecosystem during the first quarter.”
