9. Dutch
We are starting our list of easiest foreign languages to take in college with the language number 9 – if we look at the numbers, there are over 22 million of native speakers of Dutch and 5 million more of those who speak Dutch as a second language. But, besides these numbers, it is very interesting to say that this language is practically considered to be a parent of Afrikaans language and a sister of the English language. This means that it will be easy to learn for everyone who speaks English (both native and non-native speakers), and according to the lists of the easiest languages to learn, it is also named an easy one for non-native English learners, too. Dutch appeared around 450AD, but its standardization began in the Middle Ages.
