8. Ho Chi Minh City

Just 40km outside of Ho Chi Minh City, visitors can get a glimpse of the world that many Viet Cong guerrillas had while in the Vietnam war. Of course, nothing can compare to actually being here during that time, but just being in the presences of this area will certainly be humbling. There is an extensive tunnel system here and tourists can experience the safer routes.
6. Nha Trang
If you’re looking for a beach getaway while you’re in Vietnam, then look no further, Nha Trang is a spectacular coastal city with mountain views and island gems sprinkled around. Learn how to dive, walk along the promenade and then have a few screams and splashes at the water parks.
5. Sapa
This incredibly charming and gorgeous mountainous region offers displays of beauty that you didn’t know existed. The trekking tours available through Hoang Lien Son Mountains show rice paddy terraces throughout the mountainsides with some villages dotted along the way. This central coast village holds a pretty important archeological site. The ancient site of My Son, one of the most remarkable ancient sites in all of Southeast Asia, is located here. 3. Hue
The Nguyen Dynasty left a gem on the banks of the Perfume River. This imperial palace will dazzle you with its incredible architecture. This is one of the most notable sites in the country. It’s a complex of grand palaces, protective gates and walls, incredible temples and, the most famous, the Citadel monument.
2. Halong Bay
This is an incredible spectacle. Hug karsts jet out of the water forming rock islands. They dot the ocean water offering everyone cruising through an absolutely magnificent view. Check out the small fishing villages, the huge caves, and the relaxing beaches.
And, the best place to visit in Vietnam before you die is: Mui Ne
This is a popular spot for some beach bumming and wind and kitesurfing because of the excellent sea breezes experienced here, but if you want to see some bizarre sights, that’s here too. Sand dunes aren’t only for the dessert, gold sand hills are just north of town, and the Fairy Stream will provide some incredible and weird sand formations and make you feel like you’re walking on water.
