Cornell University Cooperative Extension New York City or CUCE-NYC launched an education program which focuses on science, technology, engineering or math or STEM. One of the STEM programs focuses on hydroponics, aquaponics, & aquaculture. Sustainable laboratories are designed for these studies just like hydroponics; this is a system where plants reproduce quickly which includes vegetables and herbs. One must ensure that the environment is ecologically-balanced for these plants in the hydroponics system are grown soil-less and biologically-controlled.
