4. Long Beach

This is the city that is known for being the origins of motorcycle phenomenon, Jesse James, and famed rapper, Snoop Dogg. Long Beach also ranks highly in linguistic, racial and ethnic diversity. Besides having a very large Hispanic population, the city also has big Asian and African American communities. In addition, more than 25% of the residents of Long Beach were born outside America. Even though the city ranks highly in higher learning opportunities across the diverse communities, unfortunately 20% live below the nation’s poverty level.
