Don’t let the title fool you. Though people who work as information and visitor assistants usually just help out people, a lot of the time companies also prefer people with police or security backgrounds. This is because they can act as a secondary or integrated security force whenever situations arise. They can also be guards for high profile individuals. That’s why you’ll notice that some places have assistants that usually look like they’re from the security team as well. The difference in average salary though isn’t that much.
