The second largest producer of wine, with 4,107,370 tonnes of wine produced per year is also the second when it comes to quality. Italian wine and wine regions are not the number one by anyone’s opinion but they are always near. Some of the most appreciated Italian wines are Castello di Ama, Malvira Roero Arneis and Masi Campofiorin Rosso del Veronese. If there is any consolation for them, some of the oldest wine regions are located in Italy. Italian also like to drink wine, mostly with pasta and are ranked as 5th largest consumers of wine in the world.
