7. Mexico City
Besides tons of interesting museums, intriguing architecture, and shopping malls, Mexico City has a few more kid friendly ideas for you. Try out Chapultepec Park, you might be here a few times throughout your stay. There’s a zoo, pony rides, a waterpark to get out of the heat, and rowboats, too. El Museo del Nino is a museum that’s just for kids.

Let’s get up close and personal with the incredible marine creatures in the area. At Dolphin Discovery you and the family can swim around with dolphins and manatees. There’s a more scarier animal adventure waiting for you at Croco Cun. Here you can hold crocs and snakes and even feed spiders.
5. Merida
Who said history has to be boring? At Merida you and the family can appreciate the culture and history by getting familiar with the historic center. Downtown hosts concerts, dance performances, and puppet shows. There’s an anthropology museum, and the Parque Centenario, which has plenty of entertainment such as a zoo, skateboarding rink, a mini train ride, and a pond to rowboat in.
4. Oaxaca
Here’s some more history for you, but no worries, nobody will even notice it’s educational. The Rufino Tamayo Prehispanic Art Museum is a fun spot to go to. The art and masks are colorful, and the garden is a perfect spot to run around in after. The Monte Alban archeological site is a chance for your young one to run around some pyramids and look at bones and tombs.
3. Puerto Vallarta
This place has a bit of everything. You may find you and the kids enjoying a day cooling down at the Splash water park, enjoying a show, or playing in the sand at the country’s largest natural bay. Or maybe you want to be more adventurous and zipline through the jungle or whale watch. The cobblestone streets in the main square are a charming location for the markets, cafes, and restaurants.
2. Tulum
So this incredible spot might just look like a beautiful beach getaway to your kids, but you can sneak in some antiquity as well. Perched at the end of the beach is the ancient archeological site of El Castillo. The location couldn’t get any more breathtaking. You can also go on canal tours which will bring you face to face with some of Mexico’s spectacular wildlife such as jaguars, manatees, sea turtles and tapirs.
1. Puerto Penasco
This spot is also called Rocky Point, and has really hit the right note on its vibe. It’s a rustic town, however it still provides its visitors with the comfort they desire. Beach bummers will be delighted with their stretches of beaches. There’re tons of activities such as kayaking, hiking volcanoes, and exploring a history museum.
