How do you feel about admiring the sunset in Central Park? Well, if you want, the folks over at InFocusVisions are offering just that – a way to connect to the beauty of the nature around us, even when that very nature is found deep within the busy city.
The $100 class takes place between 6.30 and 8.30 PM in Central Park and there’s no reason to fear the rain, because the class will be kept regardless of the weather.
During the walk around the park, you’ll get to shoot many pictures, while learning quite a few tricks about the best way to shoot pictures in the fading light, exercising using manual controls on your camera and even the flash.
Everyone is welcome to the class, regardless of their proficiency level.

6. Brooklyn Brainery

Over in Brooklyn we have the Brooklyn Brainery where you can take multiple photography classes, depending on what you need to learn.
One of these classes, for instance, is taught by artist and photographer David Samuel Stern. For $88, you’ll get an introductory three sessions in photography that last for two hours.

The place offers multiple classes, depending on what you need, and for affordable prices. For instance, they have a class on digital photography for $85, focusing on teaching you how to master manual mode at night. Another class will teach you about the art of intuitive photography where you’ll learn how to use your intuition to capture the best photographs.

Up next on our list we have We are BK, located in Brooklyn on Washington Street. The school offers to teach people how to use studio lighting, to try their hand at that old analog darkroom, how to use Lightroom to edit photographs, or even how to properly use a DSLR to get the best of it.
One of the classes it offers, for instance, is a crash course into night vision. During the session, you’ll get to learn how to use the available light to take the best possible photos by taking advantage of your camera’s many settings. The class costs $75.
Other classes offered at the same rate will have you learning about how to take pictures of still objects, which can be quite great if you plan on using your skill for the advertising business, for instance. Another class will have you spend three hours learning the basics of your camera, namely what all those buttons and dials do, what modes to use, how to control the camera’s exposure and so on.

Finally, at the top of our list we have JP Teaches Photo, the studio of JP Pullos, a professional photographer with work published in the largest magazines.
The studio offers many classes that fit our budget, such as some on how to use the camera, covering ISO, white balance, and other important features. Such a class goes for $97. There are also classes on nighttime and long exposure photography, and a photo walk around New York City.
The cheapest class they have goes for $47 and has you learning about how to take the best pictures with your smartphone. During the hour and a half that the class lasts for, you’ll learn about composition, how to master exposure, and how to make your pictures look best with your device.
