4. River Wharfe
The name Wharfe literally translates into “Winding River” in Old English and it is true to the nature of the river running through Yorkshire. The course of the river is strewn with rocks and gorges as it finally narrows down to The Strid, a series of waterfalls which is especially hazardous for both of its banks being undercut and has witnessed several deaths in the past.
