6. Real or fake photos?
After Elvis died there was a media frenzy. Not only were fans desperate to get a last look at their idol, but newspapers and magazines were ready to do just about anything to get their hands on some images to publish, regardless of whether this was ethical or not. The National Enquirer reportedly paid someone to get into the funeral home and to take photos of the dead body.
Fans were quick to notice that while there was a resemblance, there were also differences, including the shape of the eyebrows, the chin and so on. This led people to believe that this was a dummy made out of wax and not Elvis himself.
