Looking at that world map and examining one of 200 and spare countries – one must wonder which of these are easiest countries to draw. We are talking borders here, and while they can be considerably convoluted at times, some countries have rather smooth, and even sharp borders which are relatively easy to draw. Usually, smaller country means easier border to draw. However, things don’t have to follow that pattern as we’ll show you in this article.
If borders were any indicator of country’s safety, some of the listed countries would probably be either hard or pretty easy to conquer. Here’s a list of 10 easiest and hardest countries to conquer by our estimation, and it doesn’t really have much to do with respective country’s border complexity. Let us, however, establish a pattern of how we’ll determine easiest countries to draw.
You might think that Australia, for instance, is easy to draw. It’s somewhat rounded and large enough, but that only goes if you’re not aiming for perfection. In order to create truly precise border drawings, respective country’s borders will have to be as smooth as they get. Otherwise, it won’t be that easy to draw them. We have taken some 20 countries that match this criterion into consideration and decided to narrow the choice down in order to finally bring you this list of 6 easiest countries to draw. Bear in mind the fact that this isn’t a competition, but only a short list of 6 easily drawn countries with no particular order.
6. Equatorial Guinea
It’s no wonder that Equatorial Guinea is relatively easy to draw since most of the country is basically a rectangle. If you want to draw this small African country, you can do so straight away by drawing a 12 by 13 rectangle and deleting its left vertical side. This is where you’ll actually have some work to do as Equatorial Guinea borders the Atlantic Ocean to its west. Still, country’s coastline isn’t that convoluted, and it shouldn’t take you too much time before you’re all done and ready to move on.
5. Barbados
Barbados is the easternmost Caribbean country, and like most of its neighbors – it’s rather small. That eases things up a bit, but even though Barbados is rounded enough and almost resembles a chicken wing – there’s still some work that needs to be done if you’re trying to complete the job with precision.
4. St. Kitts and Nevis
Another Caribbean country – St. Kitts and Nevis consists of two islands: Saint Kitts and Nevis, naturally. You might have some trouble with country’s coastline, but everything you have to do is to basically draw a chicken drumstick for Saint Kits and slightly misshapen ball for Nevis. After you’ve done that, there are only a few finesse movements that need to be done before you complete the picture.
3. Swaziland
This landlocked African country only has one neighbor and that’s South African Republic which encompasses the entire Swazi territory. Even though you’ll have to make more than a few movements with your brush, country’s borders are relatively sharp and streamlined. This is what helps Swaziland making it onto our list of 6 easiest countries to draw.
2. Western Sahara
Western Sahara is a disputed territory, but it still has its borders at least. Drawing Western Sahara isn’t that hard, and it’s best to start with 1.6 by 0.8 rectangle. That should be the country’s northernmost tip, and from there, you should draw a 1.3-unit line towards the south. Make a boomerang-like shape 0.6 units towards the west and 1.3 units towards the south, and you’ll reach the southern tip of the country. Make a 2-unit straight line towards west again and connect the two unconnected ends with Western Sahara’s mild coastline that shouldn’t pose a problem for you.
1. Nauru
By far the easiest country to draw, Nauru can be found in Micronesia, some miles off the east coast of Papua New Guinea. It’s basically a deflated ball, and being an atoll country, it has the smoothest coastline around. Just imagine an elastic ball that you can gently squeeze with your fingers down the middle. Nauru would be the result, and it really isn’t that hard drawing the last of our 6 easiest countries to draw.
