Utah stands fifth among the states with the highest fertility rates in the US with a fertility rate of 63.6 per 1000 women in 2021 and a total of 46,712 births. A total of 2,987 abortions were performed in the state in the same year. The teenage birth rate was 9.7 per 1000 females aged 15-19 in 2021 and the infant mortality rate stood at 4.9 per 1000 live births in 2022.
4. Nebraska

Nebraska is one of the most fertile states in the US with a fertility rate of 64.4 per 1000 women. The teenage birth rate was 14 per 1000 women aged 15-19 in the same year with an infant mortality rate of 5.49 infant deaths per 1000 live births. The unmarried birth rate stood at 34.2%. The preterm birth rate stood at 10.79% while the low birth rate weight stood at 7.64%.

Alaska is one of the US states with the most births with a fertility rate of 64.9 per 1000 females. The state saw a total of 9,367 births in 2021. Around 1,246 abortions were reported in the state in 2022. Chemical abortions saw a 36% increase which made up 48% of the total abortions. The teenage birth rate was 17.5 per 1000 females ages 15-19 in 2021 and the infant mortality rate stood at 7.4 per 1000 live births.

Fertility Rate per 1000 Women: 66.7
North Dakota had a fertility rate of 66.7 per 1000 women in 2021 with a total of 10,112 births. Around 1,153 abortion cases were reported in the state in the same year. The number of chemical abortions decreased to 677 in 2021 from 743 in 2020. The abortion rate stood at 7.6 per 1000 women aged 15-44. The teenage birth rate stood at 12.9 per 1000 females aged 15-19 in 2021 and the infant mortality rate stood at 2.8 per 1000 live births.

South Dakota tops the list for being one of the states with the highest fertility rates in the US with a fertility rate of 69.6 per 1000 women in 2021. The state saw a total of 11,369 births in the same year. Around 137 abortion procedures were performed in the state in 2022. Chemical abortions made up 36% of all the abortions in the state which decreased 30%. 90% of these abortions were performed on state residents, 6% were performed on women from Minnesota and 2% were performed on women from North Dakota. The teenage birth rate stood at 17 per 1000 women aged 15-19 in 2021.
