Florida has some of the highest cancer rates in the U.S., with cancer being the second leading cause of death since 2014. Between 2019-and 2021, there were 138,174 cancer-related deaths. The state sees an average of 115,000 new cancer cases yearly. The top five most frequently diagnosed cancers in Florida are Female Breast Cancer, Lung and Bronchus, Prostate, Colorectal, and Melanoma of the Skin, accounting for over half of all diagnoses since 2017. Women are disproportionately affected, especially with high rates of breast cancer.
