Easily topping the list of the 20 states with the highest migrant workers in the U.S. is California, and in 2019, over 13% of immigrant workers in California were self-employed, with over 800,000 immigrant entrepreneurs. However, California is also home to over 1 million undocumented immigrants which contribute $3.7 billion to the state’s GDP.
