5. Russian Federation

The Russian Federation is an Asian and European country that is Europe’s largest country in terms of landmass. Modern day Russia relies on natural resources for its GDP, but it also has highly developed defense and aerospace sectors. Russia is one of the few countries in the world with its own space program, rockets, and astronauts. It has also built the International Space Station (ISS) and apart from the U.S. and China, is the only country with a fifth generation fighter aircraft.

The French University of Paris is one of the oldest universities in the world since it was set up in the 12th century. The country is known for its laundry list of scientists, such as Marie Curie, Henri Poincaré, Paul Langevin, and Luc Montagnier. Their contributions to nuclear science, AIDS research, and other areas have changed the world. France was also the fourth country in the world to become a nuclear power, and some of its technology firms are Nucleon Security, Forte Group, and DNA Script.
