5. Cangde Grand Bridge

Length of Bridge: 105,881 meters

Cangde Grand Bridge is the third bridge along the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway that spans more than 100 km. The bridge is supported by a total of 3092 piers and was designed with the capability to withstand earthquakes. It was completed in 2010, similar to other bridges on the same railway line.

4. Tianjin Grand Bridge

Length of Bridge: 113,700 meters

Tianjin Grand Bridge, with a total length of 113,700 meters or 70.65 miles, is another bridge that is a part of the more than 1,300km Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway. The bridge connects Langfang and Qingxian and was opened for public in 2011.

3. Kita–Yaita Viaduct

Length of Bridge: 114,424 meters

Ranked third on our list, the Kita-Yaita Viaduct is a railway bridge that connects Kita and Yaita cities in Japan. The bridge has a total length of 114.4 km (71.1 miles) and was completed in 1982. The bridge is part of the Tohoku Shinkansen high speed railway line which connects Tokyo with Aomori in Aomori Prefecture. The railway line is operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East) and spans nearly 675 km.

2. Changhua–Kaohsiung Viaduct

Length of Bridge: 157,317 meters

Changhua–Kaohsiung Viaduct is the second longest bridge in the world with a total length of 157.32 km (97.75 miles). The bridge is part of the Taiwan High Speed Rail network railway line and extends from Changhua County to Kaohsiung, along the west coast of Taiwan. The railway line comprises of a large number of viaducts and bridges and has been built to withstand significant seismic shocks, a necessity owing to the location.

Length of Bridge: 164,800 meters

Danyang–Kunshan Grand Bridge is the longest bridge in the world with total length of nearly 165 km or 102.4 miles. This is the fourth bridge from the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway that has made it onto our list. Construction of the project was undertaken by China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), a state-owned enterprise involved in the contracting, investment, development, and operation of civic and infrastructure projects. The project was completed in 2010 and costed approximately $8.5 billion.
