Topping the list of the 5 largest wind energy companies in the world is of course, Siemens which has been a giant in this industry for a long time. Siemens is the biggest wind turbine manufacturer in the world, and is a Spanish German company which is headquartered in Spain. The company is also famous for its SG 14.0-222 wind turbine, which is said to be the largest wind turbine in the entire world.

The company was established back in 1976 and at the time, wasn’t really as focused on wind energy as it was on developing new technologies and applying them to current or emerging activities.  The focus on wind energy came back in 2006, when the company pivoted towards renewable energy focusing on the wind energy sector, and as can be seen has achieved consistent success since. In addition to Spain and Germany, the company also has operations in the United Kingdom and France, and a total of around 20 countries. Currently, the company earned more than 10 billion in euros in 2019.
