Switzerland, with 18 nurses per 1,000 inhabitants in 2019 (double the OECD average), is the highest-paying country for nurses. However, amid the current shortage, 30-40% of nursing staff are foreign, drawn mostly from neighboring countries. Switzerland is also one of the countries with the best education.
