5 Highest Paying Countries for Caregivers

4. United States

Average Salary: $39,035

San Francisco has tentatively agreed to pay city-contracted caregivers a minimum wage of $25 per hour. This agreement was made in partnership with labor unions and the caregivers’ union, SEIU Local 2015. If ratified, San Francisco would become the first county in California to establish such a contract for caregivers participating in the In-Home Supportive Services program, which offers free in-home caregiving to Medi-Cal clients. This wage increase is aimed to the challenges faced by caregiver like low wages, understaffing, and long commutes. Additionally, a statewide bill, Assembly Bill 1672, is being introduced to enable In-Home Supportive Services workers across California to negotiate for wages and benefits at the state level rather than on a county-by-county basis. The US is one of the top-paying countries for caregivers.
