With this job, you would have the broadest arrest authority over all federal law enforcement agents. U.S. Marshals protect federal judges, oversee the transport of federal prisons to and from the court and assist other agents in chasing dangerous fugitives. Action-packed job to say the least. Minimum requirements for this job include being a U.S. citizen between ages 21 and 36 at the time of the appointment. Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree and at least one year of specialized experience at the GL-5 level. The reason for this is that the minimum pay for U.S. Marshal is at GL-7 level.
