Age of applicants must be at least 25 years old and 15 years older than the child they wish to adopt. Concerning marriage status, married couples can adopt only if their marriage lasts at least five years. Special condition for DR Congo is that families with three or more children can adopt upon obtaining a waiver from the Congolese government, however, it is always uncertain whether a waiver will be granted.
