Aspiring Norwegian citizens, aged between 18-67, are required to pass either the citizenship test or the social studies test. The citizenship test is a multiple-choice exam administered in a controlled room at a test center, designed to assess knowledge of Norwegian society. The 36-question test, with multiple-choice answers, covers various topics including the history of the country, geography, the Norwegian way of life, children and family, health, education and learning, working life, democracy, and the welfare society.

Online sample exams are available, providing instant results for further analysis of study needs. Registration for the test can be completed through the online booking system. It’s important to note that the exam must be taken in the Norwegian language for citizenship purposes.
