Singapore, an island country in Southeast Asia, is the sixth-most advanced country in electronics. With 5.13 million active social media users, Singapore also ranks fifth amongst countries with the most social media users. Moreover, the internet penetration rate within the country reached 96% of the total population at the start of 2024. Out of the total internet user base, about 88.6% of the total population used at least one social media platform in January 2024.

4. Hong Kong

The country is home to 48.34 million social media users and ranks 12th amongst countries with the fastest internet speeds. Moreover, the data shows that there were around 66.39 million cellular connections across the country. But it’s important to note that many people worldwide use more than one cellular connection, for instance, they might keep one connection for personal use and another one for work.

Having the second-highest number of social media users in the world, Saudi Arabia is home to 37.21 million people and 35.10 million active social media users as of 2024. Amongst all social apps, TikTok is the most widely used one in Saudi Arabia, with 35.10 million users aged 18 and above. On the other hand, LinkedIn is the least used platform in the country, with only 8.90 million members as of 2024.

Topping the list, the United Arab Emirates has the most social media users in the world today. As of 2024, the United Arab Emirates has a population of 9.55 million, and its social media users count to 10.73 million. In early 2024, the country had an internet penetration of 99.0%, a total of 9.46 million internet users. In terms of popularity and usage, TikTok leads the board in the United Arab Emirates with a user base of 10.73 million aged 18 and above. Followed by TikTok, Facebook is the second most used platform in the country, having a user base of 9.10 million users.
