Japan is an Asian country made of thousands of islands. It is also one of the most prosperous nations in the world, with a nominal GDP of $4.2 trillion – the third highest globally. Japan has 273 buildings that are taller than 150 meters, and its tallest structure is the Tokyo Skytree which took the title in 2010. The Skytree is a communications tower used by television stations and radio stations to broadcast their content. The building is the third tallest in the world, and the world’s tallest tower.

The Burj stands at 829 meters tall and is a multipurpose building with communications floors, offices, observatories, restaurants, a hotel, and residential apartments. It is also used for BASE jumping, but since the building is not linked to ground municipal systems, its 15,000 tons of daily sewage is quietly whisked away by trucks.
