1. Pakistan

Rate of Diabetes Per Capita: 0.30

At the top of the list, we have Pakistan, which has the highest rate of diabetes in the world. This can be attributed to several factors, including a lack of awareness and education about diabetes, the high prevalence of obesity, and poor access to health facilities. Inflation has soared to record highs in Pakistan, the government is on the brink of catastrophic bankruptcy, and Pakistanis have increasingly struggled over the past year to access the medicines they need to stay alive. The government is no longer able to allocate enough money for drugs such as insulin or for laboratory tests. A large number of Pakistanis need insulin but cannot access or afford it. Similarly, diabetes drugs are expensive and many people cannot afford them.

There is a dire need for intervention in Pakistan as uncontrolled sugar levels and diabetes can lead to serious complications such as nerve damage, blindness, amputations, kidney damage, and heart problems.
