5. Algeria

Algeria is another country where while drone usage may not be banned outright, restrictive laws make it all but impossible to operate a drone, and any foreigner who wants to operate a drone, whether for recreational or commercial purposes, needs to have proper permission to be able to do so.

4. Kenya

Kenya has incredibly strict restrictions imposed on owning a drone, including obtaining a Remote Aircraft Operators Certificate which is only valid ofr a period of 12 months.

Drone are outright banned in Iran, and considering the restrictions imposed by the Irani government which have only increased in recent times, it is no surprise to see Iran among the countries that have banned drones.

2. Egypt

Drone laws in Egypt are very strict, which is perhaps why you rarely if ever get to see drone videos of the Ancient Pyramids. Unless you received a permit from the Ministry of Defense, Egypt does not allow import, selling, collection or even possession of a drone, and violation of this law could result in a huge fine and a prison sentence.

The most populous country in the world also tops the list of the 27 countries where drones are banned. In India, only Indian citizens are allowed to fly drones, thus making it really difficult for any foreigners to operate drones. However, the fact that over a billion people can still fly drones in the country, not to mention the various drone startups in India still mean that it is among the top countries for drones in the world.
