5. São Paulo, Brazil

Price of Weed per Gram: $6.6

Currently Brazil allows the sale and production of cannabis products, but companies must import the key ingredients. Brazil has banned growing Cannabis sativa L, the plant that makes hemp and marijuana.

Researchers and cannabis firms have stated that Brazil’s tropical climate is ideally suited to make it a leading global supplier. Advocates argue the ban on growing domestically raises the final cost of medicines to the consumers who must rely on imports.

4. Kabul, Afghanistan

Price of Weed per Gram: $6.3

It’s illegal to use, sell or buy cannabis in Afghanistan. However, the plant has been growing there for centuries and the cannabis trade remains an enduring component of Afghanistan’s culture and a largely informal economy.

Between 10,000 and 24,000 hectares of cannabis are grown every year in Afghanistan, with major cultivation in 17 out of 34 provinces.

3. Vancouver, Canada

Price of Weed per Gram: $6.2

Sales for legal cannabis soared in British Columbia in the first half of 2022 to $314.5 million, up more than 24% from the nearly $253.8 million that British Columbians spent on legal cannabis in the same period of 2021.

A recent survey added more weight to the theory that the legal market across Canada is encroaching on the illegal one. 48% of cannabis-using Canadians surveyed purchased all of their products at legal retailers.

Private retailers in British Columbia allege unfair pricing from the public government-owned dispensaries is pushing owners out of the market by offering products with slim margins compared to wholesale costs.

2. Bangalore, India

Price of Weed per Gram: $6

Cannabis is illegal in India but its prevalence is remarkable across the social and spiritual landscape of the country. The most commonly used form of cannabis in India is bhang, used to make ‘Thandai’ – a milkshake laced with cannabis seeds and leaves. There are 27 million cannabis (bhang) users in the South Asian country, and an additional 16 million Indians use illegal cannabis products.

1. Montreal, Canada

Price of Weed per Gram: $5.9

There are a few reasons why weed is so cheap in Canada. First, the Land of the Maple Leaf has a higher production capacity for weed than the U.S. Second, the Canadian government has been working to make weed more affordable for its citizens. And third, there is more competition among sellers in Canada than in the United States.
With $5.9 per gram, Montreal is the City with the Cheapest Weed in the World
