The 2004 expansion came after the old airport, which was set up in 1932 was unable to handle large amounts of traffic due to its location. Since 2004, the airport’s passenger and flight traffic has consistently grown each year except in 2021 and 2022 as China dealt with the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent Zero Covid policy that sapped economic activity.

The Denver International Airport is the fourth busiest airport in America in terms of daily flights. It was set up in 1995, making it a relatively younger airport. It consistently also ranks as the busiest airport in both the U.S. and the world in terms of passenger traffic. 3. Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport

The Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is the largest airport for the Dallas-Forth Worth metropolitan area. It is also the second largest airport in the world in terms of passenger traffic. Additionally, the airport also played a crucial part in the early days of commercial aviation in America as it was the busiest airport in the country in terms of passenger traffic for more than three decades.

The Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport is the world’s busiest airport in terms of both outbound flights and passenger traffic. It is almost a hundred years old since it was set up in 1926 and has held the honor of the highest number of passengers since 1998.
