Based in Minnetonka, Minnesota, Cargill Inc. is an American global food company and is the largest privately held company in the United States by revenue. Cargill Inc. largely focuses on the production, trade, purchase and distribution of grain, palm oil  livestock feed, starch, glucose syrup, and other agricultural commodities. It is a largely family-owned business, with the descendants of the founder still owning more than 90% of the company. Cargill Inc. reported an annual revenue of more than $165 billion in 2022. It employs more than 155,000 employees in more than 65 countries and is single-handedly responsible for more than 25% of all US grain exports. Cargill Inc. also contributes more than 22% to the American domestic meat market and is the largest poultry producer in Thailand. To date, it is the only US producer of Alberger process salt.
