4. Koh Samui

Another phenomenal island escape for you and the family is waiting on one of the island gems in the Gulf of Thailand. Koh Samui is used to families to coming in and wanting a great time.The island packs in a lot in a small area, so the choices are abundant. Try to find resorts with kid clubs as that will be your best bet for enjoying your time as much as the kids. The Four Seasons and InterContinental offer these kids programs. You and the kids can volunteer at the animal rescue for a day of licks and furry cuddles, explore temples, and just beach lounge if that’s more your scene.

3. Koh Phuket

It’s impossible to not put Phuket on lists because this island has a way of pleasing all type of travelers, even those with little ones to entertain. It’s developed and has all the comforts you would want so you and your family can focus on fun rather than getting around and finding things. Aquariums, jungle parks, water parks, mazes, mountain bikes, horseback riding, paddle boating… The list goes on and on. What’s up your alley? Phuket will have it. Oh, and it should go without saying, beaches are everywhere.

Island life is great, but maybe you and the kids are more city slickers. Bangkok can be a bit intimidating, so scale it down just a bit and visit the comfortable city of Chiang Mai. A city, but not too much of a city. This is one of the best places to visit in Thailand for kids and families  who want to learn more about  culture and eat until the sun comes up. There’s also many nature activities around the large city, so climbing, hiking, visiting the tallest mountain in the country and more are all within reach.

1. Krabi

Last but not least is Krabi. The area boasts tons of islands and mainland beaches to escape to. Railay is a paradise and beach bumming and snorkeling can be enjoyed. If you have some older children, maybe they will want to rock climb on some of the most incredible rocks in the world. Island tours to explore nearby slices of heaven with amazing marine life just below the blue water is a fine choice as well. Choose a private tour so you and the family don’t have to share, it’s OK to be greedy, you’re on vacation! There’re national parks, waterfalls, elephants and more to enjoy. You can use Ao Nang, which is on the beach, or Krabi town, which is about 25 minutes inland, as your home base.
