The company plays a key role in the hydrogen fuel cell industry, as it makes proton-conductive membrane that can be used at temperatures of up to 180°C for robust fuel cell systems for efficient separation of hydrogen from gas mixtures. The company started its fuel cells business in 2001, saying that it plans to benefit from the market that would be valued at $10 billion by the end of the decade at that time.

A total of 61 hedge funds tracked by Insider Monkey had stakes in the chemical company as of the end of the third quarter. The total value of these stakes is $3.67 billion.
