WWE 2K is a series of wrestling video games launched in 2000. The original WWE games were developed by Japanese video game firm Yuke and published by American gaming giant THQ. US-based Visual Concepts took over development of the game in 2019. The games were inspired by real-world wrestling and featured many of the same characters as in real life. The game was exclusive to the Sony Playstation in the early years before launching for users of other gaming platforms around the world.
