5 Best Countries That Need English Teachers

2. Japan

IM Score: 48

The growing emphasis on internationalization in Japan has created a consistent demand for English teachers, ensuring abundant opportunities and a warm reception from students.

The Oklahoma State University Department of English recently hosted a three-week language instruction program for 12 Japanese teachers from Kyoto and Hyogo prefectures. Funded by a $69,999 grant from the US Department of State, the program, known as CLIC (Content, Language, Instruction Confluence), aimed to refine English language education in Japan. The teachers participated in professional development sessions with the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages program faculty and Stillwater Public Schools teachers. This initiative came into being as a result of a partnership between the Department of English and OSU Global.
