As the name suggests, assessors of real estate who rank 29th on our list of entry level job opportunities for economics majors, primarily focus on valuation of buildings as well as land assets. This includes verifying legitimate holding of the property, on-site reconnaissance, prepare a list of properties that have similar characteristics that can provide guidance for evaluation of the property under consideration and write their findings in a concise report. Unlike real estate appraisers, real estate assessors may or not require a license and might just require a simple certification course. Some of the most important skills are report writing, networking skills, number crunching abilities, customer servicing and relationship management.
