Minnesota is a midwestern state that borders Canada and Lake Superior, and is famous for having more than 10,000 lakes. Minnesota’s large seven-county metro area houses around 50% of the state’s population. It houses 3.1 million people, as compared to the 2.5 million people living in the Greater Minnesota region.
