The first position on our list of the 25 most aggressive dog breeds in America is secured by the dachshund. Dachshunds are bred to be hunters as they possess exceptional predatory instincts. They have been involved in numerous attacks against human beings. In August 2021, in Columbus, a dachshund bit a police officer even after being scared away by a fired bullet. The same dachshund was also involved in biting a delivery man on the hand and injuring him. Similarly, in 2018 an Oklahoman woman was killed by a pack of dogs, most of them being dachshunds. In 2002 a 6-week old baby was mauled and killed by a Dachshund. The probability of dachshunds attacking the owner is close to 5.9%, while the probability of them attacking a stranger equals 20.6%.
