Japanese used to refer foreigners as ‘Gaijin’. They are friendly and helpful to foreigners. Japanese people try their best to communicate with tourists such as Americans even though some of them don’t speak fluent English. In this case, language is not going to be a barrier in helping tourists with the simplest things such as giving directions and letting them know of the best point of interests in Japan. Are you fond of selfies? The Japanese love taking photos too! Don’t be surprised if one of them spontaneously ask you to have a picture with them.
