Los Angeles had second highest number of racially motivated hate crimes last year. Almost third of all city residents are African Americans who mainly live in the southern and eastern parts of LA. The poverty rate among them (26.2%) is three times higher than white poverty rate. Also, black families have the median income which is around $30,000 lower than white households earnings.
