4. Mai Tai
Although this cocktail has a Tahitian name which means “good”, it was first made in a restaurant in California in 1944 by the restaurant’s owner Victor Bergeron. The original recipe of the number 4 in our list of good fruity alcoholic drinks to order at a bar, includes Curacao liquor, rum, orgeat syrup and lime juice. However, there are numerous variants of this cocktail today, but all of them are within the context of Polynesian style. Today, triple sec and Jamaican rum are usually added to it. It is great if you can add crushed ice, but if you order it in a bar, you will get your cocktail in a small decorated glass with a straw.
