9. Make fun of arranged marriages

As mentioned before, much of India remains a deeply conservative society. And as such there are still many cases of arranged marriages being forced down the throat of young women by their over-bearing families who associate dating with immorality and are unwilling to accept a boy of the girl’s choosing. The idea of marrying a complete stranger terrifies westerners when they hear of this tradition so just think of what a huge stressor this must be for the poor girls who have the specter of an arranged marriage hanging over their head. But if they’re on Tinder, you can assume that they are not too keen on going down that route just yet. By employing the above line, you cut the tension out of the situation and quadruple your chances of getting a swipe right. Another example of a joke that makes fun of the ludicrous idea of arranged marriages goes something like:
“Can I borrow your phone? I promised my mom I’d call her when I find the girl I’m going to marry.”
