Game, set, try to match the best tennis players who have the best one and two-handed backhand of all time.
I used to play tennis in high school. I was kind of bad at it, but I think it’s the effort that counts. I was still, by some miracle, on the varsity team, which probably just says that my school’s tennis situation was a little weak, but I digress. I will say that my backhand was absolute trash, even though I practiced it so much. I just don’t have strong arms. I’m more of a runner, which is why cross country was the sport I dedicated the most time to. I love to watch tennis, though. It’s an exercise in itself because there’s a lot of action to watch and your head is always turning to watch where the ball went. It’s a great sport that I’m just not good at.

Tennis requires some reliable partners, even if you’re a singles tennis player. You need a good racquet and a sturdy pair of shoes. If you need some recommendations, take a look at the 12 Best Tennis Shoes for Women. Granted, having the right equipment won’t make you an amazing player, but it certainly helps. You can’t roll up to the tennis court wearing sandals or boat shoes. That would be a crime. And also you would probably injure yourself, which defeats the purpose of trying to be good at a sport.
In order to choose the players for this list, we took some names from Reddit and Quora. Most of these players are still active, but some have retired. We checked out their names and profiles at ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) to confirm their level of skill. It’d be hard to rank these exactly, so we did our best to create an order that makes the most sense. All in all, these are the best of the best. Most of the list is seniors in tennis and the rest are ranked according to their respective ranks in ATP (for men) and WTA (for women). Only a few players use a one-handed backhand, so with regard to stability and accuracy, the players who favor a two-handed backhand have the advantage here.
Lace up your shoes, get your racquets ready, and let’s take a look at the best tennis players who have the best one and two-handed backhand of all time.
