The open carry of guns in Kentucky, one of the states with easiest, least restrictive gun laws in America, is lawful except in certain restricted areas (such as schools, kindergartens, courtrooms, correctional facilities, etc.). No state permit is required to possess a rifle, shotgun, or a handgun. While carrying shotguns and rifles without a license is lawful, one must have a license if they carry a concealed handgun.
